Chichester City Council's contribution to Chichester Vision
The City Council has already contributed to Chichester Vision (in particular the drive to improve the Public Realm in the City Centre) by carrying out :
Works to the Council House (specialist stone and brick cleaning and repairs at a cost of £16,000)
Works to refurbish the Market Cross (£28,600)
Floral displays within the City Centre (£25,000)
(including taking over the maintenance of the flower beds in West Street from West Sussex County Council and contributing to Chichester Bloom)
Contributing annually to the maintenance of the Chichester Cemetery (£38,000)
An annual contribution to the City’s Community Wardens (£40,000)
Assisting with improving access to Florence Park from Pound Farm Road (£3,000)
This totalled an expenditure of £162,100 in the financial year 2016/2017.
The City Council is additionally in the process of :
Automating and modernising the Market Cross clock at the cost of £10,000.
Replacing all the wooden benches in the City Centre with low maintenance vandal resistant and sustainable recycled resin plastic seats at the cost of £19,000.
Installing a picnic table and seats in the Brewery Field for the quiet enjoyment of residents and visitors at a cost of £1,400.
