Cathedral Beds, West Street, Chichester
Chichester City Council have taken on the responsibility and maintenance of the Cathedral Beds in West Street and in partnership with Ferring Nurseries, the beds have been tidied up and have been planted with spring bulbs which will provide a bright and cheerful display in the Springtime. The surrounding grass will be cut once site conditions improve. Ferring Nurseries will also be planting up the beds for a Summer display.
Councillor Kilby said: "This is another important step forward in improving the appearance of the city. The County Council faces many budget pressures and this agreement allows us to use the expertise we have developed through Chichester in Bloom and the hanging baskets scheme that decorate Chichester during the summer and that will continue."
"We also see this project as an early contribution to the Chichester Vision work that is taking place and being led by the District Council working with various partners including the City Council."
