Heritage Award for World War 1 Memorial Sculpture

We are very pleased to announce that The Woodland Centre has received a Highly Commended certificate in the Building Craft category for the World War 1 centenary commemorative statue in Litten Gardens.

The sculpture, commissioned by Chichester City Council, was installed in the Garden of Remembrance and Reconciliation in Litten Gardens in November 2018 for the centenary of the end of World War 1.

The City Council is delighted to have been involved in this very important project which saw a local Oak tree reborn as a fitting tribute to those from Chichester and beyond that gave their lives in service to their Country during World War 1.

Congratulations to The Woodland centre and the Sculptor, David Lucas for this achievement!
