More than 85,000 people vaccinated in Sussex in the last week
Data published today by NHS England showed that 288,211 vaccinations were delivered in Sussex up to 31 January, with 85,702 delivered in the last week of that period.
The figures showed that 96,189 people over the age of 80 in Sussex had received their first dose. This is the fifth highest total in England and all the more impressive in the context that Sussex has one of the highest over 80s populations in the country.
By 31 January, 86% of over 80s had received their first dose, along with 78% of the 75-79 population and 23% of those aged 70-74. In addition, over 100,000 people under the age of 70 have been vaccinated, predominantly eligible health and social care workers.
The NHS in Sussex remains on track to have offered the vaccine to everyone in the first four priority groups by mid-February, in line with the national target.
