It is with a degree of sadness that Chichester City Council is today announcing that a decision has been made to POSTPONE the Chichester Tree Summit.
As we are sure you can appreciate, the current public health environment means that high levels of uncertainty exist regarding the viability of public events such as this.
While we are still following Government advice regarding meetings and events, the organising group felt that the uncertainty surrounding the ability of keynote speakers to travel and other delegates to attend; it was best to take a decision to postpone at this time.
A tremendous amount of work has been put in to arranging this event and a huge amount of goodwill shown by speakers, delegates and their organisations.
We still feel this is a vital event and so we have tentatively chosen dates in the middle of October to hold the summit when, we hope, the Coronavirus will have peaked and the public health concerns will have subsided.
We will keep you updated as and when further details become available – please also keep an eye on the Tree Summit web page
In the meantime, the “My favourite tree” competition deadline will be extended to reflect the rearranged summit dates.
