YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED TO ATTEND A MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE TO BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER AT 4.00PM ON THURSDAY 1 FEBRUARY 2024
1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE IN MATTERS ON THE AGENDA FOR THIS MEETING
3. MINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 7 DECEMBER 2023
To approve and sign as a correct record the minutes of the Planning and Conservation Committee meeting held on 7 December 2023.
4. CORRECTION TO THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 9 NOVEMBER 2023
To correct the pronoun used to refer to Councillor Chant in minute 77 from his to their.
5. UPDATES ON ACTIONS FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING NOT COVERED ELSEWHERE ON THE AGENDA
- Minute 92 refers – Letter to be sent to West Sussex County Council regarding the new bollards being installed in Westgate.
6. APPLICATIONS FOR PLANNING PERMISSION
a) Update on delegated decisions made by the Planning Adviser in lieu of the meeting of the Committee originally scheduled for 4 January 2024.
b) Applications for planning permission – weeks 1 to 3

7. STREETNAMING APPLICATION

8. CITY CENTRE PAVEMENTS
a) Minute 99b refers – Letter from the Mayor on behalf of the City Council to be sent to West Sussex County Council (individuals as listed in the minute) emphasising the unacceptability of the current state of the pavement.
b) Update from West Sussex County Council Highways regarding progress on the City Centre pavements project further to the completion of a piece of work by WSP Consultants.
9. NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN UPDATE

10. REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL BUS SHELTERS IN LAVANT ROAD
To review requests from members of the public asking for the installation of bus shelters at the stops as follows:
- south of the junction of Lavant Road and The Drive (inbound route)
- on the opposite side of Lavant Road to the Lavant Road Doctors Surgery (outbound route)

NOTE: Officers are currently awaiting a response from West Sussex County Council about the availability of S106 or other funds for these shelters should Members decide to proceed.

The filming, photographing and recording of City Council meetings is now permitted by those members of the press and public attending. This includes the use of mobile devices by those using social media. It would be appreciated if anyone who wishes to do this could let the Chairman know before the meeting commences.
However, these provisions will not apply on occasions where the press and public are excluded from the meeting when confidential matters are discussed.
It is requested that discretion is exercised and nothing done to disrupt or distract the meeting in any way. The Chairman will reserve the right to request that filming/recording ceases if it is having a detrimental effect upon the meeting. If you do not wish to be filmed then please let the Chairman know so that alternative arrangements can be made
