Assembly Room

The Assembly Room (c.1782) is on the first floor of the building and has the benefit of a stage which can be used for concerts, etc.

The room has a wooden floor with four fireplaces (not in use) with niches over the mantels which are individually lit.  It is one of the few eighteenth century assembly rooms in the country that is still used for meetings and concerts.

The room is suitable for wedding receptions, concerts, conferences, fairs, exhibitions, etc.

It is accessed by the main staircase and a lift is available.

Please note: The lift has a weight capacity of 630kg OR 8 persons so it is not suitable for large mobility scooters.

Lift dimensions are: Width – 75cm – Depth – 138cm – Height – 200cm

Hirers of the Assembly Room also have use of the Crush Bar seating area, serving hatch and kitchen.

Room size: 18m x 8.5m

Capacity: 180 persons standing/seated in theatre layout or 120 persons plus tables (e.g. laid out for a wedding reception)
