SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL

Minutes

Date: 20 September 2023

Time: 6.00pm – 6.12pm

Location: The Council Chamber – The Council House • North Street • CHICHESTER • West Sussex • PO19 1LQ

PRESENT: The Mayor, Councillor C Gershater, and Councillors Apel, Butler, J Gershater, Kondabeka, Loxton, McHale, Miall, Moore, Scicluna, Squire and Vivian.

ALSO IN ATTENDANCE: Town Clerk, Council Services and Support Manager

38. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

RESOLVED to accept and approve apologies and reasons for absence from the meeting from Councillors Chant, Corfield, Hitchman, Knight, Pramas and Quail.

39. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

No declarations of interest were received.

40. PUBLIC BODIES (ADMISSION TO MEETINGS) ACT 1960

It was proposed by Councillor Scicluna, seconded by Councillor J Gershater and RESOLVED that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for agenda item 4 due to the nature of the business to be transacted, namely confidential civic awards matters.

41. TO CONSIDER THE NOMINATION TO RECEIVE THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY

Members discussed the confidential report that had been circulated before the meeting and it was proposed by Councillor Apel, seconded by Councillor Scicluna and RESOLVED that the Freedom of the City of Chichester be conferred on the individual as nominated in the report.
