Chichester City Council is responsible for organising the annual Service of Remembrance and wreath laying on Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday of November.

The event sees the Mayor lead the Council from the Council House to the War Memorial in Litten Gardens. The Council are joined by other civic dignitaries, ex-service groups, serving armed forces personnel, the emergency services, youth organisations and representatives from many other Chichester community groups. At the conclusion of the service the organisations march past the Mayor who takes the salute at Eastgate Square and the parade then forms up on both sides of East Street and the civic party processes back to the Council House through the assembled ranks.
