2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE IN MATTERS ON THE AGENDA FOR THIS MEETING

3. MINUTES OF THE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 9 DECEMBER 2024

To approve and sign as a correct record the minutes of the ordinary committee meeting held on the 9 December 2024

4. PUBLIC QUESTIONS

To answer questions (if any) from members of the public being residents of the City pursuant to Appendix 1 of the latest version of Chichester City Council’s Standing Orders.

5. SCREEN ON CATHEDRAL GREEN EVENT

To consider allocating £1,850 from the Events Fund to support the New Park Cinema screening event.

7. UPDATES ON ACTIONS FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

To note the completion of the following actions:

• Minute 70 – CO to add recommendations to the Community Asset Register.

• Minute 72 – CSSM to place ‘Public Arts Policy’ on the next Full Council Agenda.

• Minute 73 – TC to renew Admiral Murray Statue licence for 12 months.

• Minute 75 – DTC to inform grant applicants of the outcome of their application.

• Minute 76 – CCCSO to place items on the next Community Affairs Committee agenda.

To note reports received:

9. TO NOTE REPORTS RECEIVED FROM COMMUNITY GROUPS

10. ANNUAL REVIEW OF OUTSIDE BODIES

To review the council’s engagements with external organisations, including the Friends and Twinning associations.

11. DELEGATED DECISIONS

• To note the contribution of £900 from the Public Realm budget to support the Friends of Centurion Way in restoring the Gateway Arch.

12. CHICHESTER CEMETERY

To review reports on the developments at Chichester Cemetery, including an analysis of running costs and a comparison of prices with other local cemeteries.

13. CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU REVIEW

To note the reports provided by the Citizens Advice Team based in The Council House.

14. MAYOR MAKING CEREMONY 2025

To discuss and decide on the arrangements for the upcoming Mayor Making Ceremony.

15. PUBLIC SECTOR BODIES (ADMISSION TO MEETINGS ACT) 1960

Proposal to resolve that the public and press be excluded from this meeting for Agenda Item 17 due to the confidential nature of the business to be transacted namely financial and business affairs of third parties.

The filming, photographing, and recording of City Council meetings is now permitted by those members of the press and public attending. This includes the use of mobile devices by those using social media. It would be appreciated if anyone who wishes to do this could let the Chairman know before the meeting commences.

However, these provisions will not apply on occasions where the press and public are excluded from the meeting when confidential matters are discussed.

It is requested that discretion is exercised, and nothing done to disrupt or distract the meeting in any way. The Chairman will reserve the right to request that filming/recording ceases if it is having a detrimental effect upon the meeting. If you do not wish to be filmed then please let the Chairman know so that alternative arrangements can be made.
