Thousands of subsidised trees available for planting in the Chichester District
People will be able to apply for subsidised trees to plant in their communities from Monday 11 July, as part of a Chichester District Council initiative to increase tree planting across the district.
The Murray-Nelson sculpture, created by Vincent Gray, has been awarded a 2022 Public and Community Award by Sussex Heritage Trust.
The sculpture is currently installed outside the Council House in North Street and includes an interpretation board giving further details about its subject matter.
Availability of unaudited accounts for Chichester City Council to year end 31 March 2022
Each year, Chichester City Council’s Annual Return needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by the Public Sector Audit Appointments.
The unaudited Annual Return has now been published with this notice and will be available for inspection from Friday 1 July to Thursday 11 August 2022.
As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of the external review.
Chichester’s Summer Street Party returns this July.
Chichester District Council’s Summer Street Party is back on Sunday 17 July, running as an all-day event for the very first time, and showcasing city centre businesses as well as food and entertainment from across the district.
The streets of Chichester were packed with flag waving crowds to watch the Chichester City Gala Procession celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Participants walked, marched and danced their way through the city streets, lead by a fire engine from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The Council House and City Council offices will close at 4.30pm today, Wednesday 1 June 2022, for the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday.
We will reopen on Monday 6th June 2022 at 9.30am.
However, you WILL be able to find us at in and around Priory Park from 11.00am on Saturday 4 June 2022 when the City Council’s Platinum Jubilee Gala Procession and Family Fun Day will be kicking off with a procession through the streets of Chichester followed by fun for all the family in Priory Park..

On Saturday 4 June, as part of Chichester City Council’s Family Fun Day in Priory Park, there will be a grand prize draw in aid of the Mayor of Chichester’s charities for 2022-2023 – Business2Schools and Second Chance Chichester.
Tickets are only £1 each and can be obtained from reception at the Council House, North Street, Chichester (cash sales only) or on the day from the City Council’s Help Point between the Guildhall and Fenwicks Cafe in Priory Park.
