Council House building works investigations

In response to indications of possible minor structural movement in the Portico and Council Chamber above, we are undertaking investigations of the foundations to ascertain if any stabilisation works are required.

This will entail digging two trial holes to allow the foundations of the pillars to be inspected.

This work will commence on Tues 15^th February 2022.

Heras fencing and netting will be erected around the locations of the two holes to prevent any injury to the public.

Access/egress to The Council House, and fire escape routes, will be kept clear and unobstructed throughout.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure you that the trial holes will be back-filled and original paving re-laid as quickly as possible.
