Against Litter – Help Keep Chichester Clean

We all want to enjoy a clean and welcoming Chichester—and that starts with small actions we each can take. This summer, Chichester District Council are encouraging residents and visitors alike to support our Against Litter initiative and help protect the beauty of the district.

With over 300 square miles to maintain, they rely on the community to do their part. Whether you’re strolling through town or picnicking in the park, please take your rubbish home or use one of the many public bins available. And if you see someone in need of a reminder, help spread the message.

Looking to make a difference? The Adopt an Area scheme allows individuals, families, and groups to pledge regular litter picks in their chosen part of the district. Participants receive an Adopt an Area pack full of useful tips for organising clean-up efforts and information about the support available from the District Council.

If you’re a dog owner, consider joining the Green Dog Walkers scheme. By pledging to be a responsible walker, you’ll help promote positive habits and act as a friendly reminder to others to pick up after their pets.

Planning a clear-out? Be sure to dispose of your waste safely and legally. Always use a licensed waste carrier and verify their registration number with the Environment Agency. If waste is fly-tipped and traced back to you, you could face a fine—even if you weren’t the one to dump it.

Together, we can preserve the charm and cleanliness of Chichester—for today, and for generations to come.

West Sussex County Council: Young people’s leisure-time activities survey

Public Health and Early Health in West Sussex County Council are undertaking a project to look at young people’s educational and recreational leisure time activities and facilities.

As part of this work, they want to hear from young people about what they think about leisure-time activities outside of and after school or college. This could include clubs, sports, play or skate parks, youth groups, art groups, or other places young people may go to.

The survey runs from Wednesday 18 June until Sunday 6 July 2025. They are also running a free prize draw!
