Transforming Lives Through Literacy in Chichester & Arun

Read Easy Chichester & Arun (RECA) is a recognised local charity, dedicated to empowering adults to learn how to read. RECA has trained Reading Coaches to provide free, confidential, one-on-one coaching to adults seeking to improve their reading skills. RECA’s purpose is to enable individuals to unlock their potential and embrace new opportunities.

At the heart of RECA is a network of committed volunteers, whose dedication is to create a supportive environment for adult Readers and to raise awareness. Each success story underscores the impact gaining reading skills have on an individual’s life, confidence, independence, and personal growth.

In Arun District, it is estimated that around 10,000 people struggle with reading. This demonstrates the importance of RECA in the local community. For many adults, the inability to read can be a barrier to personal and professional development. RECA is steadfast in its mission to dismantle these barriers, providing tools and support for individuals to build brighter futures.
