The streets of Chichester were packed with flag waving crowds to watch the Chichester City Gala Procession celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Participants walked, marched and danced their way through the city streets, lead by a fire engine from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The Council House and City Council offices will close at 4.30pm today, Wednesday 1 June 2022, for the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday.
We will reopen on Monday 6th June 2022 at 9.30am.
However, you WILL be able to find us at in and around Priory Park from 11.00am on Saturday 4 June 2022 when the City Council’s Platinum Jubilee Gala Procession and Family Fun Day will be kicking off with a procession through the streets of Chichester followed by fun for all the family in Priory Park..

On Saturday 4 June, as part of Chichester City Council’s Family Fun Day in Priory Park, there will be a grand prize draw in aid of the Mayor of Chichester’s charities for 2022-2023 – Business2Schools and Second Chance Chichester.
Tickets are only £1 each and can be obtained from reception at the Council House, North Street, Chichester (cash sales only) or on the day from the City Council’s Help Point between the Guildhall and Fenwicks Cafe in Priory Park.

Saturday 4th June will see Chichester City Council’s Gala procession followed by a family fun day in Priory Park.
The Gala Procession will set off from New Park at 11am, process along New Park Road, Priory Road, St Peter’s, North Street, East Street, St Pancras and back in to New Park Road before the Family Fun Day starts in Priory Park at midday.
The Family Fun Day will bring traditional fun and entertainment to Priory Park including a miniature fun fair, tea tent with traditional deck chairs, vintage market, Zorbing, hog roast, meet the alpacas, as well as live music, arena events and other entertainments.
The day will end with a GRAND PRIZE DRAW and a sing along with Chichester City Band
Free entry and EVERYONE is welcome.

The City Council has become aware that this event, due to take place in the Assembly Room, will not be going ahead.
Chichester City Council officers came together with volunteers from Chichester BID, West Walls Residents Association as well as the City Council volunteers who look after St Martins Garden; to refresh and replant the Cathedral flower beds in West Street last week.
Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne has launched a new app called ‘Safe Space Sussex’. The app is aimed at helping people should they feel unsafe outside of their home.
